Rhododendron

Rhododendron is highly valued by gardeners in all Europe and Americas, originated in the Himalaya. Local people who admire its beautiful blossoms, covering the hills from Bhutan to Nepal, often don’t know that they also possess a wonderful, rich, balsamic and rare floral fragrance. Rhododendron flowers are one of the five plants used for Himalayan incense, symbolizing the five elements that help to sanctify and harmonize the environment. Fragrant blossom powder is used as incense for pleasing deities.

In perfumery, the scent of rhododendron flowers, though not as prominent as some other floral notes, can add depth and complexity to fragrances with its sweet, floral, and slightly fruity aroma.
