Collecting the First Harvest
On the first week of August, just after the Lammas Sabbath, we can start making the first reports and take the first glance at all the achievements this year already brought. It’s a month of harvest and time for yourself when one creates time and space to evaluate the past the present and the future. It’s your last chance to escape the daily routines and to enjoy the holiday season. God Kvasir will support you with his wisdom and sharp mind.
Prepare for the New Business Season
Now that we started collecting bounty we should pay a tribute to the one who guards the goods of our life – Freyr, the god of the harvest. Don’t let the efforts you made to enrich your job easily slip away before the new business season starts. A symbolic gesture and a ritual will be very well received by Freyr and the First Quarter Moon is perfect timing to use your magic.
Full Sturgeon Moon
On the 22nd of August, the last Full Moon of summer will come. Having many names related to harvest and food it was called the Sturgeon Moon by the Algonquin tribes, the Grain Moon by the Anglo-Saxons, and Green Corn Moon or the Barley Moon by some. Nature is full of different kinds of tastes, smells, and goods in August and people become rich in feelings and passion. The magic of love rituals and the powers of the goddess Freya will spice up the fruitful Full Moon of August.
Celebrating Virgo Season
The end of Summer also means the start of Virgo season, coming on the 23rd of August. Virgos are guarded by the imaginary planet of Proserpina, linked to the Zoroastrian goddess Proserpina and Persephone in Greek mythology which became a symbol of the Judgement archetype and the candle in our Mayor Arcana. The magic of this candle will inspire one to get a new perspective on life and to rebirth just like spring, making the goal and the direction of one’s future plans crystal clear. This is the best gift for those born under the sign of Virgo and everybody willing to embrace the strengths of Virgo.
